What an amazing display of ball-striking, clutch putting and pure grit that Matt Fitzpatrick put on this weekend to win the US Open at Brookline and his first major. It was a truly unforgettable final round, out-dueling world number 1 Scottie Scheffler and the unflappable Will Zalatoris. Fitzpatrick's bunker shot from the 18th fairway would have been difficult under any circumstances, but on the 72nd hole of the US Open and clinging to a one-shot lead is just unfathomable to be able to put that shot onto the green in any kind of birdie range. Fortunately he only needed to 2-putt for par to win, which he did with ease. Matt Fitzpatrick's bag setup was pretty much unchanged for the tournament with only slight version upgrades to his Vokey SM9 wedges. Funny enough, he hit 17 of 18 greens on Sunday, meaning he probably didn't use his wedges all that much!
